Annabhisheka For Lord Shiva
On the 15th of November 2024, a special Annabhisheka is performed to Lord Siva at Tiruvannamalai.
This homam protects one from negativity, black magic, evil eye, enemies and gives strength to face them
Annabhishekam serves as a symbol of gratitude to Lord Siva, the guardian of the five elements of nature and all living beings on Earth. Additionally, rice represents the harmony of these elements. When a seed is planted in the soil (Earth), it receives nourishment from rainwater (Water), energy from the Sun (Fire), and is aided by the wind (Air), transforming it into paddy. This paddy is then processed into rice. The eternal energy (Sakti) in the Siva Linga represents (Aether). which sustains all forms of life. This highlights the importance of Anna Abhishekam.
This annual ritual dedicated to Lord Siva takes place in the evening of the full moon day during the auspicious month of Tula (Libra). On this day, the entire Siva Lingam is adorned with cooked rice. As a deity who delights in celestial baths (Abhishekapriya), Lord Siva is rendered a special Annabhishekam on this significant occasion.
